obligatory rebellion

So I had this whole cute Halloween post all typed out and ready to go with pictures and everything. But then I realized it was really boring and you probably don't care what I did on halloween. If anything, you wanted to know what I dressed up as. I was a thief. (Code for I just wore all black) Just check out my Instagram if your'e really curious. @lebaroness

Something I've been thinking about lately is obligation.


But first, here's some pictures of me and my adorable niece. Sometimes she tries to eat my face and I just love her.




Why do we do things? Why do we feel like we have to do certain things? The worst feeling in the world is when you feel like you have to do something you don't want to do. That's something we all have felt before. We have to go to that bridal shower of that girl we don't really know from that one thing that one time, we have to go to class every day because it's required. We have to eat (haha just kidding, I always want to eat).

I've gotten to the point in my life where I'm done doing things I don't want to do. This could be the worst possible mind set for me to be in at this stage in my life. This probably goes hand-in-hand with my problem with authority.

To me it's like this. Just ask yourself if you want to be doing what you're doing. If the answer is no, then just don't do it. If the answer is yes, then do it! If you don't want to do something then just don't do it. It's your life, you wipe your own bottom now. You should be able to do whatever you want.


Maybe this is the worst attitude I've every had, but I believe that we shouldn't get caught up in this world and thinking we need to do a certain thing because society tells us we should. We should do what we want to do, we should do whatever we love to do.


Same goes for if you want to do something, right? If you want to do something, do it. Don't wait for anyone else, If you want to experience something, go experience it. If you want to go somewhere, go. If you're unhappy with something in your life, change it.

On the other hand, then there are those things that you probably shouldn't do, all for your own good! "You shouldn't eat all this candy, you'll feel sick." or "You shouldn't drink all that Red Bull, you'll NEVER get to sleep." or "You shouldn't go to that hockey game being held literally a 30 second walking distance from your front door TONIGHT because that guy you dated last summer is on the opposing team and when you see him you might have a mini heart attack and end up listening to nothing but Taylor Swift and depressing indie love songs for the next three days."

See what I mean guys?

There are things we don't want to do, but we should. There are things that we shouldn't do, but for some reason we still want to do. So what do we do?
